TO JOIN, OR TO TRANSFER INTO OUR POST

If you would like to join Mingus Mountain Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10227 in person you can visit with us on the 4th Saturday of any month between 0845 and 0915, just before our monthly meeting is slated to begin at 0930. It is only about a five to ten minute process to get you signed up and locked on. You will become a member at that time and be allowed to attend that morning's meeting. What you may want to do is to drop in at our post home on any work day between the hours of 0900 and 1500 and pick up a rough copy of the application form. You can take it home with you, fill it out at your leisure, and then bring it with you on that 4th Saturday morning of the month at the above times and one of us will put together the formal application for you. 

Our post home is located at 2375 N. 5th Street in Prescott Valley. We are in the large metal building just south of the Moose Lodge. Turn left onto the dirt road immediately behind their building. (5th Street is the road leading down into Fain Park.)

We can, and will, sign you up right on the spot at that location. Just visit with any one of our three eligibility committeemen: Membership Chairman, Fred "Digger" Nelson; Membership Committeeman, Oscar Ramos; or Membership Committeeman, Steve Gonzalez.

When you come to join up with us (or if you are just looking for additional information about joining), please bring with you a clear copy of your original DD214 separation form. That is the document that we use for verification of eligibility. And, if you do, in fact, plan on signing up - your first years dues of $25.00. Or, if you might want to sign up for "Life Membership" we can do that for you, too. Here are the current rates for life membership:

To transfer in to our VFW post from another one is also a very simple process: Once again, just drop in and talk to us at the above address.

You can email Fred Nelson, our Post Membership Eligibility Chairman, at: frednelson1956@yahoo.com for any and all additional information you may need with regard to eligibility. Be prepared to explain where you served at in one of the VFW "eligible" areas and the "from" and "to" dates that you served at that overseas location.

You can also go on-line and join, or pay your annual dues, or become a life member, get a new membership card, or change your mailing address. All you need is your current VFW membership card and a credit card.
