CANTEEN

This is what our post home presently looks like:

But ... give us a few months and it is going to be beautiful. We have been working on it since September of this year. It, just like our Website, is a "work in progress". When we finish all that we are trying to accomplish the canteen will will have a bar, a kitchen, a pool table area, an office, and a very large area for our (and other organizations, i.e.; American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Airborne, Submariners, Marine Recon, etc) monthly meetings and/or social gatherings. And, once we get 100% fully established, anyone at all in the local area will be able to rent our large meeting room for whatever kind of event they may want to have there. A wedding, perhaps, a barn dance, a family reunion, maybe. Lots of possibilities here.

Picture an overhang porch area on this end of the building in the top picture, with a few outside tables, and a totally Arizona western motif throughout.

Clockwise, from top left: kitchen area; canteen (bar); poolroom; office space and storage; bathrooms (center left part of picture);and our large "meeting area" is off the picture to the left. We will get there as soon as we possibly can. At the moment we are doing our very best to raise money so that we can put in a parking lot, then finish the inside of the building, and then get busy on the outside area.

Can you help? We need donations of all type, from inside building materials, to industrial-type kitchen appliances, to (later on) nursery products such as trees and bushes and other materials, like decorative rock, river rock, edging materials, and like items.

We need money to build up our building fund, and our post's general fund, so that we can start pushing a number of different buttons with regard to our electrical and plumbing needs, outside bulldozer, skip-loader and backhoe work on the parking area, and, to a great degree, money for all the necessary permits that will be required to even think about accomplishing some of these tasks. Please make a generous donation if you are able. We need all the help we can get ...

You can deliver "things" to the post home at 2375 N. 5th Street, Prescott Valley (directly behind the Moose Lodge off the road leading down to Fain Park). There is generally a "watch-stander" and/or other members working that are available between the hours of 0900 and 1500 (9:00am to 3:00pm) each work day and from 0900 to 1200 on all Saturdays with regard to post home project meetings. The post is closed on Sunday.

You can donate money to our "building" fund and/or our "general" fund at:

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10227
PO Box 25702
Prescott Valley, AZ 86312-5702

And please bear these two things in mind:

(1) We are a totally non-profit organization and every "thing" and/or every donation of money to our post can be claimed on your taxes. You will be provided a receipt for anything and everything that you can do for us.

(2) Everything that you can (and do) for us goes straight back out to OUR community with regard to helping all of our veterans. These men and women veterans are some of your husbands and wives, sons and daughters, uncles and aunts, and many of your neighborhood friends and their relatives. It is the least we can do for them .... for what they have already done for each one of us.

We do this every day in Post 10227, in spades.
