Ladies Auxiliary Newsletter

Volume 1, Number 1

  •
Well this month has not been all that active, so there isn't a whole lot to report.
  •
We did go to the VA Hospital February 13th, and took over 4 cakes. Everyone seemed to have a good time. I wish to thank the ladies that went over and took care of it for me. I could not attend because of the flu. But thanks ladies, for your great work.
  • We will be going back March 13th, and will need your assistance again. We will need cakes, and volunters. Call me if you can help.
  • Our next meeting will be March 24th. Mark this on your calendars, so we can have a good turnout.
  • Don't forget our District 2 meeting will be April 14th at the Flagstaff post. 11AM  joint, lunch at 12, and separate meetings will be 1:00 PM. Hope to see some ladies there. We will be holding our memorial service for our deceased sisters and election. We can carpool and help with those that cannot drive. Give me a call.
  • Our Loyalty Day service will be April 27th, 2007 at C.A.S.A. here in Prescott Valley. Lee Stirton will be organizing it for me this year. I'm sure she will be having some good speakers as well as the Franklin Phoenitic choir to sing for us. They always do such a good job.
  • Our auxiliary meeting will be April 28th, 2007, 9:30AM at the church. It will be election day for our auxiliary. So please come and volunteer for an office or at least a chairmanship, to keep our auxiliary prospering in the future. We need your help, as some of the present officers have been holding an office for years and need a break.
  • We will hold our installation meeting May 26th, 2007 at the church and have invited the post to join us for a "pot luck" luncheon afterward. I am waiting for a reply from the commander. We will be submitting a list for who and what can be donated for this luncheon. This way we will have a good variety for this luncheon. I will report as soon as I receive a response from the Commander.
  • Don't forget to turn in your reports to the president. These determine what rewards we will get at the State Convention. Unless they know what we are doing up here, they cannot grade us for any awards. This includes helping your fellow veterans, neighbors, donations to local charities, participation in the schools programs, etc.
Any volunteering you may do at the local hospitals, museums, donations given to the V.A. hospital, Stepping Stones, driving people to the doctors, prescription pick up, shopping or churches. This is all reportable. Any cards that you send out, birthdays, sympathy, get well, are also reportable.
  • If you know of any hospital equipment that is available for donation, contact Beverly Phillips, she handles this for our auxiliary. 772-9354
  • Also if you know of someone who is in need of crutches, canes, wheel chairs, toilet seat lifters, shower chairs, these are available for not only veterans but also for people in our community.
  • We are still collecting aluminum cans to recycle and replenish our funds. Newspapers and eyeglasses we delivered to the Lions Club.
  • thanks for all your help and cooperation for the support of our veterans and local community.
  • I would also like to thank the Flag Crew that displays our flags along the Highway 69 corridor. They sure look good flying in the wind. It is such a small job that they do in comparison for what our young men and women in uniform are doing for us all over the world.
  • If you have any relatives serving now, and know when they are coming home, let's welcome them in some way. Let them know how proud we are of what they have done and are doing for our freedom.
  • Also invite them and their spouses to join our great organization. Always carry a membership card with you for any occasion where you might just happen to meet someone to join us with our work.

Yvonne Lee

Auxiliary President
